Projects for 2010 – 2011

The following are some of the projects under consideration by the Community Service Committee for 2010 – 2011.

Connect with youth in our community

1) Start a youth wing — Rotarac

2)  Encourage scholarship students as active participants

Connecting with the international community:

1) Broadcast some of our meetings on the Internet

2) Attempt interactive participation of international members in our meetings over the Internet.
Update August 2010: We are now doing this on a regular basis. The broadcast part of the project is more complicated but we are still working on it.

3) Offer a number of volunteer opportunities to other clubs

CCC – Cultural Community Center

Work with other community groups to develop a community center with library, performance venue, gallery, daycare etc.

Education Projects:

1. Finish the Zacualpan Project ($400,000 pesos)

2. Luis Pasteur Kindergarten Installation of a cistern ($28,000 pesos). Update August 2010: Oak Bay Rotary grant application pending.

3. Luis Pasteur Kinder Level the front of the lot to make room for a play area, repair retention wall and replace front fence ($21,000 pesos).Update August 2010: Oak Bay Rotary grant application pending.

4. Luis Pasteur install playground equipment ($50,000 Pesos)

5. Luis Pasteur paint classroom ($7,000 pesos). Update August 2010: Oak Bay Rotary grant application pending.

6. Breakfast area for kindergartens with shade area, cement tables and benches for Luis Pasteur kindergarten. ($30,000 pesos)

7. Breakfast area for kindergartens with shade area, cement tables and benches for La Patria kindergarten. ($30,000 pesos)

8. Breakfast area for kindergartens with shade area, cement tables and benches for Las Cabras kindergarten. ($30,000 pesos)
