The new Pacific Gateway Marina being built by the Mill Bay Marine Group in Port Renfrew is almost ready to open.
The seawall is complete most of the pylons and docks are installed. The planned May 15th opening looks like it will be delayed some.
Last Sunday Andrew Purdy flew in for a brief tour of inspection.
Much of the mountain which hung over the old marina has been used to build the seawall.
According to the project website there will be 60 year round moorage slips.
A public meeting will be held 6:30 pm, Thursday May 12 at the Port Renfrew Community Center to consider a temporary permit to operate the marina.
The Mill Bay Marine Group also has other projects at Mill Bay Marina, Port Browning Marina and MK Bay Marina.
