Mexican Reporting Style

The Mexican media is a bit shocking to read until you get used to the difference in style from what most northerners are used to.   One soon gets the idea that they are pumping the story for all the sensationalism that it could possibly contain.

There are few reports that we would call objective when measured by the standards for reporting north of the border.  That is unless your standard happens to be the tabloid press.  For that reason we hesitate to link to stories in the Mexican media.  That is not to suggest that the incidents are less serious.  It is just a different style of reporting. Mexican reports are much more likely to contain graphic images that would rarely be found in the northern media.

We hope our readers will keep that in mind and look for the hard facts that can be verified by other reports from a different source be it Mexican or other.
