Plan de Ayala Secondary School — Wall Repair

The wall by the main entrance gate to Plan de Ayala Secondary school was leaning badly, supported by some diagonal poles that were starting to rot. Teachers contacted the committee because they feared that the wall would fall and injure students.

The project was estimated at about 10,000 pesos to add 3 new support columns with reinforced bases and pull the wall back to vertical position. The parents committee committed the 20% funding required by the Education Committee and the work was undertaken immediately. Funding for the project was approved by the committee at its December 7th regular meeting.

Foundations were dug and three new support pillars were added.

The wall was cut in the middle and then pushed and pulled back to vertical.

The project was completed in under a week by 1, December 2010.

On 13 December the school asked representatives from Los Amigos to be presented for a formal thank you

in front of the morning assembly.

It was an impressive display with marching band, flag presentation and the singing of the national anthem.
