Another thing you can do to lower your rate fast, is to close the current account (in DAC) and open a new one in your spouse’s name. This will start you at the low rates, but to keep them you need to adjust your use.

We got on the DAC because of welding during construction before we even moved in. Our use dropped but the rate remained. So now we have one DAC bill and one tiered bill at a substantial saving to us.

The other thing to think about is that if you do have two services you balance your usage so that at least one of them gets off the DAC rate and then make sure it is consuming enough to take advantage of the two bottom tiers.
