Personal Stories
In this section we have stories about people.
People who are considering moving to the area, their preparations, how they came to choose their community.
People who have been here for years, offering their experience to help us all along and hopefully reflecting on how it was in the good old days.
People in the thick of it sharing their struggles.
We need contributors. Don’t say you don’t write well enough (the editor will fix your draft). Don’t worry about your privacy (names can be changed to protect the guilty). In fact the story you write could be about a family whose experiences are actually a combination of the experiences of a number of people you have known. All we ask is that you respect their privacy by changing the details sufficiently.
We also ask that the stories be true except for the details necessary to protect privacy. If you are starting a project you might give us a short story about it and then you can add comments weekly or monthly as it moves along. It is all about helping others to understand how things happen in Mexico.
Think about our readers in the cold, frigid north approaching retirement considering how to spend the rest of their lives, dreaming about the things we take for granted or the newbies just starting to buy property and build their dream home.
If you can answer some of the questions below you qualify:
When did you come to Mexico?
Are you considering moving to Mexico?
How and why did you make the decision?
How did you pick the part of Mexico where you live?
Have you bought real estate?
What was you funniest experience?
What do you do day to day?
What was your most difficult experience?
Have you built a house or planning to do so?
How do you stay in touch with your family?
What do you like best about your community?
