There are a few details about this site that may be helpful for you to make better use of it.

Getting updates:

You can subscribe to the site so that you get an email whenever a news article is added. You can do that in the Subscribe by Email page. That way you will be notified when news articles are posted. You can subscribe to the newsletter for more general coverage. 

Links:

A word or phrase which is coloured blue is a link to another page. The page may be on the Jalapeno or anywhere on the WWW. If you have visited the link the colour will be a darker shade of blue. There are a number of links on this page.

How to find information:

We have two kinds of information: news often referred to as posts or articles AND static pages also called contents or information pages. Recent news articles are listed on the home page and categorized by subject in the “News Categories” tab at the top left. All the other tabs refer to Static pages which are organized in a hierarchy. Some of the most used pages are across the top. The main topic pages are listed down the left side first in collapsed form i.e. only main pages and then followed by all pages in alphabetic order (sometimes called a site map).

Searching the site using the search box located below the advertising in the right column is a good way to find an article or a page of interest to you. Just enter the subject you are looking for.  For example if you enter your own name you will get a list of all pages where your name appears. 

Using the site as a language learning resource is talked about under “Learn Spanish“. That page also talks about the state of translations and how to switch languages.

There is a back to top button in the bottom right corner if you are not at the top of the page.

Una palabra o frase que es de color azul es un enlace a otra página. La página puede estar en el jalapeño o cualquier parte de la WWW. Si usted ha visitado el enlace el color será un tono más oscuro del azul. Hay una serie de enlaces en esta página.

Cómo encontrar información:

Tenemos dos tipos de información: noticias refieren a posts o artículos y páginas estáticas también llamada contenido. Recientes artículos de prensa se enumeran en la página principal y clasificados por tema en la sección “Categorías de Noticias” en la parte superior. Todas las otras fichas se refieren a las páginas estáticas que se organizan en una jerarquía. Algunas de las páginas más utilizadas son en la parte superior. Las páginas temáticas principales se enumeran en el lado izquierdo.

Búsqueda en el sitio usando el cuadro de búsqueda en la parte superior de la columna de la derecha es una buena manera de encontrar un artículo o una página de su interés. Sólo tienes que introducir el tema que usted está buscando.

Utilizando el sitio como un recurso de aprendizaje de idiomas se habla en “Aprender inglés“. Esa página también habla sobre el estado de las traducciones y la manera de cambiar de idioma.

Hay una botón “arriba” en la esquina inferior derecha si usted no está en la parte superior de la página.
