Enter Spanish Characters using Character Map

You can enter any character from any language in any font that is installed on your computer by using the character map. This includes not only Spanish characters but also Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, a wide variety of boxes and squiggles and etc. To find the character map in Wndows 7 or vista use the start menu button and type “Character map” to get this:

Now you can select the the character you want to use from those shown, scroll down to see more and change the font. To select a character click on it and click select. For example if you click on é and select you get this:

Move the cursor to your document and paste the selected character or characters+ by typing Ctrl-v.

You can select multiple characters in the character map and then paste them all at once.

You can also double click a character and it will be selected without needing to move to and click the select button.

There are far better solutions to entering Spanish characters using your English keyboard:

If you only do it occasionally then the best method is probably Enter Spanish characters using the ALT key.

If you use a lot of Spanish characters it is probably best to Install the US international Keyboard.
