Surfing

There is some good surfing in the area. Sayulita and Punta de Mita are well known but there is good surf north of there too.

The Jaltemba Bay kids can ride a small ripple in a bath tub. They usually display their skills at the end of Calle Mazatlan or at the lava flow on the north end of La Peñita. Very entertaining!

For larger waves surf-able by other than these hot shots you may have to go a half hour north to Chacalilla (local for Chacala):
