How to get to – Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens

 

The trip to Puerto Vallarta Botanical gardens will take you about 2 1/2 hours if you drive from Jaltemba Bay depending on traffic. From Puerto Vallarta it is one half to 3/4 hours depending on where you start from. You can also catch a bus at the main bus loop in old town Puerto Vallarta.

It is located 24 km south of Puerto Vallarta on the highway toward Barra de Navidad.

You can use the tunnel route to avoid downtown Puerto Vallarta.

There is no sign pointing to the tunnel (Jan 2011). Just after passing Plaza Caracol (Soriana on the right) get in the left hand lane and watch for this askew traffic light. A left turn here will put you through the tunnel.

Once in Old town Puerto Vallarta you will see signs for Barra de Navidad.

The two lane paved road winds along the ocean and then turns inland. The gardens are on your right hand side after coming around a corner shortly after passing trough the small town of Aguacate.
