Folks were definitely having a good time when I dropped by the Wild West Night at El Rodeo last night in Guayabitos.
The event was in support of the Los Amigos Scholarship program for CONALEP students. A number of the students were helping to serve to meal.
I was delighted to see all three of las Tres Amigas at the event which they organized. They have had various problems this year which prevented them from all attending their events. A big tip of the Jalapeno sombrero to them for giving back to community in the face of adversity.
El Rodeo was full and the meal was delicious. Los Tres Amigas explained that the band presented a bit of organizational havoc with two band unable to meet their commitment for various reasons. Los Naturales stepped in at the last minute and played some really good, toe tapping country music.
All these smiling faces shows you how much fun a fundraiser can be. If you want to be part of one. I have tickets to the Fairwell Fling 3 to be held March 7th at Las Azaleas, La Penita. I would be delighted to deliver your tickets but don’t delay because it looks like I may have to return to Canada before the event. Details of that event at this link: Farwell Fling 3
I always chat with folks as I take photos and they often tell me where they are from but I rarely publish that information for fear of getting it wrong but last night I came up with this way to remember who is who. I got them to show me the letter of the place they were from. Like these folks from Pender Island
Yes that is “P”. The “S” for Sumerland was bit more challenging:
So who was having the best time? Well clearly the folks from Summerland, B.C. Canada. We chatted about the Summerland train robbery which they pointed out included period costumes,
and a train robbery. They invite you all to enjoy that experience this summer: Kettle Valley Steam Railway website.
