Xaltemba Restaurant expands into Rincon de Guayabitos with the opening of El Rodeo restaurant.
Today the Xaltemba Restaurant expanded its successful formula for value dining with the inauguration of its new location in Guayabitos. The new restaurant is called El Rodeo and is located on the main street. At the corner of Sol Nuevo (the main drag) and Jacarandas (second traffic light on the highway coming from La Peñita) turn left (away from La Peñita) and it is on your left a bit further along at #37.
Shown here with Eddie of Xaltemba Resaurant and Galleria is business partner, Palmira Pineda of Pineda’s. Pineda’s is the last restaurant on the south side of the Guayabitos beach which has been run by her family for 25 years. Eddie says, “Palmira took over the family restaurant 5 years ago making it very popular.”

There was free beer and live Cuban music by “Willie y su Son Caribe”.
The event was well attended by about 80 people who certainly looked like they were enjoying themselves.
The restaurant features hand made tortillas and MEAT. As Eddie said earlier in the day when announcing the event, “It is very much a carnivorous experience.”
Yep! Pretty much a lot of MEAT. Check out the price on a kilo of New York steak with fixin’s.
When asked about the concept for the new restaurant Eddie said:
“The concept is a mix of Xaltemba dining experience at Pineda’s affordable Mexican prices and informal, casual beach style. We had a good even mix of Mexicans and Canadians which is our goal so the restaurant can stay open all year for locals. We’ll have music once or twice a week, Saturdays will be the Cuban music, “Willie y su Son Caribe”.
